The founders of Amos Academy have established a reputation for offering premium courses to barbers globally. However, their video platform lagged behind, failing to reflect the high caliber of their video content. Faced with an outdated website and video platform, the founders approached me to infuse their digital experience with a premium touch. The MVP of the platform was designed and developed in less than 2 months.
The platform exhibited numerous UX and accessibility issues. Furthermore, the design didn't align with the established branding, resulting in an outdated appearance. Additionally, they relied on an external video player, which compounded the overall disconnect.
After conducting a heuristic analysis, I identified the limitations of the current platform. Based on these findings, I introduced a solution in form of wireframes and validated it through user testing. Subsequently, I adapted and expanded their new branding to enhance the digital experience on the revamped website. To guarantee consistent visual representation across all mediums, I also developed a comprehensive style guide.
The course page stands as the pivotal component of the entire website. It's where users gather comprehensive details about the course and make their purchasing decision. To bolster course sales, I incorporated various elements such as course rating, duration, chapter previews, and prominently emphasized the certificate users receive upon course completion.
The original player felt dated, cluttered with superfluous elements, and lacked clarity regarding lesson progression. In the redesigned version, users can effortlessly discern their current lesson and track their course completion percentage. Additionally, the navigator can be hidden, allowing users to achieve an immersive learning experience.
The post-course flow is pivotal as it represents the final touchpoint in the user's journey. I aimed to foster a sense of accomplishment in the user while emphasizing the value and importance of their feedback to the platform.
